We want to give a shout out to the students and parents at Greene Middle School in Palo Alto!
This community has conducted a book drive for Access Books Bay Area every year in the spring since 2016, and are once again in the middle of their annual book drive right now! Greene’s commitment to literacy, and especially all of the effort of the amazing students in the Greene Library Club who coordinate the drive every year, is so impressive and appreciated!
This year’s book drive will provide books for upcoming school projects at Edenvale and Washington Elementary schools, both of which serve over 85% students living at or below the federal poverty line. They will also help us stock our little free library boxes around the San Francisco Bay Area.
If you live in Palo Alto and would like to contribute to this drive, donations of gently used, like-new picture books, easy chapter books, and engaging nonfiction books for ages 4-11 are being accepted between now and May 7th in front of the main office of Greene Middle School, 750 N. California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94303.
And if you don’t have used children’s books to donate and would still like to help, you can also purchase new books from our Amazon Wishlist, or from our Books4School list. Books purchased from our Books4School are also brand new, but are available at a discounted price from this amazing vendor.
Thank you again Greene Middle School community, for being such amazing partners and consistently supporting our work to increase access to great books for children in need around the Bay Area!
