About The Event
Overview
Access Books Bay Area is looking for a couple of volunteer photographers to document our work refurbishing underfunded school libraries in the SF Peninsula area. The photographer will attend our three Saturday library refurbishment project days to shoot before and after photographs of the library space and photograph the 70+ volunteers throughout the project day (6-8 hours). The photographer may also be asked to take photos at other events as needed throughout the Bay Area. Photos will be used for our website, marketing/fundraising products, organization communications, and social media. Ability to shoot and edit video would also be useful.
Job Responsibilities
Attend our three library refurbishment project days (three Saturdays per/year from approximately 8am - 4pm) to photograph the library space itself, as well as the volunteers working to transform the space and process the new books.
Edit and share the photos with Access Books Bay Area staff within a week after the project or photo shoot.
Shoot and edit short videos for marketing purposes is not mandatory but would be a bonus.
Skills & Qualifications
Own and operate a DSLR or full-frame mirrorless camera.
Experience capturing quality images.
Experience as a professional photographer is a plus!
Access to and expertise with photo editing software.
Passion for literacy and improving the library experience for students at underfunded schools.
Time Commitment
We ask for a one year commitment to be on-call as one of our photographers. You might only help with our three project days (Sept or Oct, one around Jan or Feb, and another around April or May), or if you have the availability you can help with periodic photo shoots. The number of hours per week varies, with more hours in the weeks leading up to a project date, and up to 8 hours on the actual project days.
