Corporate Sponsorship
Access Books Bay Area, a 501(c)3 non-profit could not do what we do without the support of our corporate sponsors. Sponsors both small and large in the past have made a huge difference in supporting literacy and pleasure reading at low-income schools in our area. From smaller grants that fund a bookshelf’s worth of books, to sponsoring an entire school project with funding and volunteers, from providing pro-bono support, to providing capital support in the form of capital funding or business space, there are many ways for your company to support our work.
Sponsor a School Project
Be the exclusive sponsor of an Access Books Bay Area school project
With a donation of $20,000 to Access Books Bay Area, your company can become the sole funder of an entire school project.
What your funds provide
As a corporate sponsor funding an entire project at this level, your funds would provide:

Books! Over 1,000 brand new, hardcover library-quality, engaging books for the school library, usually costing between $10-$20 per book.

Library processing for those books — labels and digital records — without which donated books often go unused in underfunded and understaffed libraries.

Material items to create a comfortable reading space in the library. Depending on the needs of the school, these often include a colorful reading rug, a comfortable librarian chair for read-alouds, small reading couches, and other comfortable reading furniture for kids to spend time in the library and read.
Volunteer Opportunities
As a school sponsor, your company also gets the chance to be involved hands-on by providing volunteers for the project day, usually a Saturday from 9am-2pm. Volunteers help to put processing labels on books, sort and stamp donated used books for classrooms, and paint colorful reading-related murals inside the library.
We can also work with you to develop customized volunteer opportunities for your employees.
Recognition
School level sponsors are featured on the front page of our website, and are recognized on our social media and in feature articles on our blog. Some school level sponsors also choose to maintain an ongoing relationship with Access Books Bay Area, sponsoring a school project each school year.
An important way to help Access Books Bay Area increase our reach and take on more projects is through capital improvement grants and donations. We are currently limited to 3-4 school projects per year by space limitations on storing donated books, and are looking for a space where we could store and receive deliveries of donated and purchased books to be used for projects. This space could be donated, or funded by an ongoing capital grant.
If your company specializes in capital development, corporate accounting, non-profit tax preparation, website development, SEO optimization, or any number of other areas that can help us to expand and streamline our work, please consider providing pro-bono support to our organization. Access Books Bay Area is a small all-volunteer organization today, and in order to grow and expand our ability to provide literacy support around the Bay Area, we will need the support of professionals in the field with necessary knowledge and expertise.
In order to provide books to the classrooms of the project school, corporate sponsors can also choose to do a book drive with their employees, collecting approximately 1000 new and gently used books appropriate for K-8 that are then given to the teachers at the school for inclusion in their classroom libraries.
